Marc Hausman
President and CEO

Founder Marc Hausman is responsible for setting corporate direction, building executive-level relationships with clients and developing new business opportunities for the firm. He also serves on the Strategic Board of Directors as Chairman. Under Marc’s leadership, Strategic has become the agency of choice for a tier one group of technology and healthcare companies with a combined annual income of more than $10 billion. Clients are attracted to the measurable results generated by Strategic, especially in the rapidly growing field of social media.
For more than 10 years Marc has led the team that’s built Strategic from a start-up to a multi-million dollar public relations consultancy. In the process, he has become a frequently consulted and quoted authority on communications and business development programs that support corporate growth.
Marc has been featured in a number of industry publications, including Entrepreneur, PR Week and Fortune Small Business. He has served as a columnist for SmartCEO Magazine and Inc. Magazine, and has contributed articles to other leading publications such as Washington Business Journal, Expert PR, ExecutiveBiz and Expert Magazine. PR News has recognized Marc as one of the “15 to Watch” in the public relations industry.
Marc is an active member of the National Capital Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth.

Christopher Parente
Managing Director

Chris brings more than 15 years of extensive market expertise to Strategic in the area of Internet technology, including broadband access, wireless, domain name issues, digital security and online advertising. He develops and oversees a variety of integrated PR, social media and business development programs, providing strategic counsel to clients, and ensuring reliable delivery of agreed-to performance objectives by dedicated account teams.
His clients include BearingPoint’s (NYSE:BE) Public Sector business group, for whom he launched “GovTwit,” a directory of government related Twitter streams that has dramatically increased the company’s web traffic, SEO and thought leadership.
For government to citizen communications provider GovDelivery, he also leads PR efforts that have greatly elevated the visibility of the company through the launch of an executive blog and Twitter stream. GovDelivery executives have become recognized experts on the topic of government 2.0 through a mix of social and traditional media tactics.
In addition, Chris also planned and directed an integrated PR campaign for Internet infrastructure provider UltraDNS, greatly enhancing the industry profile and valuation of the company prior to its purchase in 2006 by NeuStar, Inc. Other clients have included AMERICOM Government Services, Juniper Networks Federal Systems and TANDBERG.
Prior to joining Strategic, Chris worked with both public and private companies, including senior corporate communications and product management positions with VeriSign, the registry operator of the .com and .net domain name extensions and two of the Internet root servers responsible for global Internet connectivity. He also served as vice president of corporate communications for Advertising.com, purchased in June 2004 by Time Warner’s AOL division for $435 million. Chris possesses an extensive wireless background, having worked as a marketing manager for the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association (CTIA) in Washington, DC.

Shany Seawright
Managing Director

Shany brings a decade of experience, working for some of the most innovative technology companies in the industry. Practicing a unique approach to communications, she incorporates traditional corporate and financial communications with creative social media tactics to drive true ROI for her clients.
Shany’s current clients include: Microsoft Federal, British Telecom (BT), TARP and Epok, for whom she launched the first ever social media programs to drive sales, lead generation, brand awareness and thought leadership. She also launched a comprehensive financial relations and employee communications program for Integral Systems (NASDAQ: ISYS), linking together subsidiary companies under one corporate umbrella and resulting in increased positive financial analyst coverage and the ringing of the bell at NASDAQ.
Shany has developed strategy and executed campaigns announcing new CEOs and management teams for a variety of both public and private companies. Her industry analyst relationships include Gartner, Forrester, Frost & Sullivan, Burton Group and Yankee, and she has secured high-profile media placements with the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Forbes, Investors Business Daily, Washington Post and Associated Press, as well as industry trade publications.
Prior to joining Strategic, Shany worked for the Merritt Group’s security practice group, managing the communication programs for companies representing nearly every aspect of information security. Clients included former White House Cyber Security Advisor Howard Schmidt, Qualys, Cyber Security Industry Alliance, NFR Security, MCI and others. She also worked for the technology practice groups for Hill & Knowlton and GCI Group, where her clients included Bell South and Motorola.

Tonya Bacon
Director

Tonya brings extensive corporate communications and public relations experience to Strategic, working with clients in the public sector, enterprise and professional services markets. She manages a set of client engagements and also works as a team member providing counsel, media and analyst outreach and account service.
Her clients at Strategic include WellDoc, for which she has dramatically increased visibility. For Associates in Radiation Oncology she developed the “Promise for Tomorrow” campaign in support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and other cancers, and she publicized the firm’s prestigious accreditation by the American College of Radiology.
Her other Strategic clients include Integral Systems (NASDAQ: ISYS), where she provides financial communications counsel, and British Telecom, where she develops content strategy for the U.S. corporate social responsibility blog. She also has worked with Pitney Bowes Government Solutions, PRTM, SES Americom, Tellabs (NASDAQ: TLAB) and Trace Systems.
Previously, Tonya served as director of communications for a physical security company providing homeland security services to the federal government. She also worked at Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, where one of her accounts was Pfizer, the global pharmaceutical giant. Her projects ranged from international corporate communications to a “Science Free for All” (in conjunction with the American Museum of Natural History) to Pfizer’s 150th anniversary celebration.
For the Eric Davis Foundation, named for the Major League Baseball player stricken with colon cancer, Tonya promoted “Score for Screening Day,” which offered free screenings at baseball games.
Tonya is also experienced in legal communications, having developed marketing programs for Swidler Berlin Shereff Friedman, LLP (now Bingham McCutchen). In this role, she oversaw marketing collateral, firm sponsored events, attorneys’ speaking engagements and web site development.
Tonya is an accomplished public speaker, having worked with Making It Count, a division of Monster Worldwide. She serves on the Board of Directors and as the marketing communications chairperson for the Boys & Girls Clubs, Greater Washington, Maryland Region. She also serves on the Board of Directors and as the public relations chairperson for the National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC) Mid-Atlantic Chapter.

Nikki Robinson
Director, Finance & Administration

Nikki oversees Strategic’s day-to-day operations, finance, and human resources. She supports the firm’s ability to deliver exceptional results for its clients through the implementation of agency-wide best practices, financial processes and internal controls.
Nikki’s professional experience spans more than 15 years of finance and human resources responsibilities with both private and public sectors, including more than three years with a large publicly traded company that included six divisional service and distribution entities under her management.
Nikki is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

Jeff Majka
Director, Marketing and Business Development

Jeff develops new business at Strategic via his network of corporate executive contacts and participation in a number of influential trade groups, such as the Software Information & Industry Association (SIIA) and American Marketing Association (AMA).
He brings more than 10 years of sales, public relations, advertising and marketing experience to Strategic. Prior to joining the agency, he was a member of the sales team for an enterprise CMS software company targeting the federal market. Jeff has also worked at Congressional Quarterly where he held sales, training and client management responsibilities with systems integrators, technology providers, trade and issue associations, law firms, and several federal government agencies.
After getting his start in political advertising, Jeff was a co-founder and owner of IMPACT Strategies, an integrated marketing agency that focused on servicing networking, telecommunications and technology startups.
