Marc Hausman
President and CEO

Founder Marc Hausman is responsible for setting corporate direction, building executive-level relationships with clients and developing new business opportunities for the firm. He also serves on the Strategic Board of Directors as Chairman. Under his leadership, Strategic has become the agency of choice for a tier-one group of technology, telecommunications and professional services companies with combined annual revenue of more than $10 billion.
For more than 10 years Marc has led the team that’s built Strategic from a start-up to a multi-million dollar public relations consultancy. In the process, he has become a frequently consulted and quoted authority on communications and business development programs that support corporate growth.
Marc has been featured in a number of industry publications, including Entrepreneur, PR Week and Fortune Small Business. He has served as a columnist for SmartCEO Magazine and Inc. Magazine, and has contributed articles to other leading publications such as Washington Business Journal, Expert PR, ExecutiveBiz and Expert Magazine. PR News has recognized Marc as one of the “15 to Watch” in the public relations industry.
Marc is an active member of the National Capital Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth.

Brian Muys
Managing Director

Brian brings more than 20 years of public relations and corporate communications experience to Strategic. He is responsible for the creation and management of integrated PR and business development programs, providing strategic counsel, tactical execution and client service.
At Strategic, Brians clients have included DataPath, Everest Software, GlobeRanger, Lagan Technologies, Stanley (NYSE: SXE), Wireless Matrix (TSX: WRX), among others.
Brian joined Strategic from Best Software, a provider of business management solutions for small to mid-sized companies. He oversaw all corporate media and industry analyst relations programs in support of its acquisition by and rebranding as Sage Software.
He previously served in a similar senior management capacity with Concert Communications, the global telecommunications joint venture of British Telecom and MCI, during Worldcoms purchase of MCI and AT&T;s succession of MCI in the venture. In addition, he worked with the original management team of PSINet, the first commercial Internet Service Provider, during and following its successful IPO. He also served trade association and corporate clients through his own communications consulting business.
Brian is a long-time member of the Public Relations Society of Americas Technology Section, and has also been a featured speaker at a number of technology, telecommunications and public relations-focused conferences and seminars.

Christopher Parente
Managing Director

Chris brings extensive corporate communications, public relations, product management and publishing experience to Strategic. He is responsible for the creation and management of integrated PR and business development programs, providing strategic counsel, tactical execution and client service.
Chris has extensive market expertise in the areas of Internet/Web technologies, broadband access, domain name issues, digital security, systems integration and online advertising. His clients at Strategic have included Aptara, BearingPoint (NYSE:BE), Convera (NASDAQ: CNVR), Tellabs (NASDAQ: TLAB), UltraDNS Corporation, among others.
Prior to joining Strategic, Chris held senior corporate communications and product management positions with VeriSign, the registry operator of the .com and .net domain name extensions and two of the Internet root servers responsible for global Internet connectivity. He also served as vice president of corporate communications for Advertising.com, one of the most prominent mid-Atlantic region technology success stories, purchased in June 2004 by Time Warner’s AOL division in a $435 million all-cash transaction.
For four years, Parente held a variety of positions with the Times Mirror Inc. publishing company, serving as a senior manager for their electronic political publications. He also possesses an extensive wireless background, having worked as a marketing manager at the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association (CTIA) in Washington, DC.

Shany Seawright
Managing Director

Shany is a true technology PR agency professional having spent a majority of her career working for firms in Washington, DC and Atlanta, GA. At Strategic, she manages a set of client engagements and also works as a team member providing counsel, media and analyst outreach and account service.
Her client experience at Strategic includes Acuity Mobile, Aptara, BearingPoint (NYSE: BE), Integral Systems (NASDAQ: ISYS), Microspace Communications and Senforce Technologies. Shany has also worked for companies in every aspect of security—from managed service security providers, intrusion detection and intrusion prevention, vulnerability assessment, and more.
Prior to joining Strategic, Shany worked for PR consultancy Merritt Group Inc, in the company’s security practice group. Her clients included the former cyber security advisor to the White House, Howard Schmidt, Qualys, Cyber Security Industry Alliance, NFR Security, MCI and others. Shany’s past experience also includes working within the technology practice groups for two global public relations agencies: Hill & Knowlton and GCI Group.

Tonya Bacon
Director

Tonya brings extensive corporate communications and public relations experience to Strategic working with clients in the public sector, enterprise and professional services markets. She manages a set of client engagements and also works as a team member providing counsel, media and analyst outreach and account service.
Her clients at Strategic have included include Pitney Bowes Government Solutions, PRTM, SES Americom, Tellabs (NASDAQ: TLAB) and Trace Systems.
Tonya joined Strategic from a security company that specializes in providing homeland security services to the federal government. She has prior public relations account experience with Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, where one of her accounts was a global pharmaceutical company with more than 120,000 employees in 150 countries.
Tonya is also experienced in legal communications, having developed marketing programs for Swidler Berlin Shereff Friedman, LLP. In this role, she oversaw firm-sponsored events, attorneys’ speaking engagements, and coordinated web site development.
Tonya is an accomplished public speaker, having worked with Making It Count, a division of Monster Worldwide. She also serves on the Board of Directors and as the marketing communications chairperson for the Maryland Region Boys & Girls Club of America.

Nikki Robinson
Director, Finance & Administration

Nikki oversees Strategic’s day-to-day operations, finance, and human resources. She supports the firm’s ability to deliver exceptional results for its clients through the implementation of agency-wide best practices, financial processes and internal controls.
Nikki’s professional experience spans more than 15 years of finance and human resources responsibilities with both private and public sectors, including more than three years with a large publicly traded company that included six divisional service and distribution entities under her management.
Nikki is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

Jeff Majka
Director, Marketing and Business Development

Jeff develops new business at Strategic via his network of corporate executive contacts and participation in a number of influential trade groups, such as the Software Information & Industry Association (SIIA) and American Marketing Association (AMA).
He brings more than 10 years of sales, public relations, advertising and marketing experience to Strategic. Prior to joining the agency, he was a member of the sales team for an enterprise CMS software company targeting the federal market. Jeff has also worked at Congressional Quarterly where he held sales, training and client management responsibilities with systems integrators, technology providers, trade and issue associations, law firms, and several federal government agencies.
After getting his start in political advertising, Jeff was a co-founder and owner of IMPACT Strategies, an integrated marketing agency that focused on servicing networking, telecommunications and technology startups.
